The Ingredients You Need:
1. 600g / 1lb 8oz Chinese rice cake, soak in the water for 24 hours
2. 400g / 1lb pak choy, washed and chopped
3. 2 inch root ginger, finely chopped
4. 1 tbsp olive oil
5. 200g / 10oz prok steak, trim away the fat and cut into thin strips.
6. 1 tbsp cornflour(cornstarch)
7. 1 tsp chicken powder
8. salt
9. 1 tsp Chinese rice wine
10. 1.5 pints or more water

Mix together the cornflour, salt, Chinese rice wine and 1/2 tsp chicken
powder. Toss the pork steak strips in the mixture until evenly coated.

Heat the oil in a wok, add the grated ginger and stir fry the pork
strips briskly over a high heat for 5 minutes or until it browned all
over.
3. Add the pak choy into the wok, mix it well and stir fry with the pork strips till soften.

Pour the water into the wok, bring to the boil. Add the Chinese rice
cake and continue cooking until boil again, then wait for further 1
minute.
5. Season the rest of the chicken powder and some salt for taste. Serving immediately.
Cook's Tip:
If
you use frozen pok steak, trim it when it's only half defrosted. At
that time it's very easy to get rid of the fat and cut the strips
evenly.
